The inaugural Magic Millions 2yo Classic was run in 1987, won by Snippets. With the 32nd running of the race in 2018, the 1200m dash for the 2yo’s has enhanced the stud credentials of colts and also featured some top gallopers of the future, including Testa Rossa, Brave Warrior, Phelan Ready, Unencumbered, General Nediym, Assertive Lad, Capitalist and Dance Hero.

Many of the filly’s featured on the honours roll have also left an indelible mark in the breeding barn:

• Bold Promise by Luskin Star (1991) produced Golden Slipper winner Merlene in her first year at stud, who in turn was the dam of 3 stakes winners including VRC Oaks winner Dear Demi. Other offspring of Bold Promise include Newmarket Hcp & Australia Stakes winner Miss Pennymoney plus Compulsion, herself the dam of Magic Millions and Golden Slipper winning stallion Capitalist, plus Red Excitement, Brayroan and other stakes performers.  
• Lion hunter mare Lovely Jubly (2002) is the dam of Chautauqua who is a grey just like mum, plus London Lolly.
• Regimental Gal (2003) is the dam of Lilliburlero and the grand-dam of Souchez – plus a number of top selling yearlings!
• Mirror Mirror’s (2006) first foal was No Looking Back – who lost the Magic Millions on protest! She also produced million dollar colt – Chauffeur was ran 3rd in the Magic Millions
• Augusta Proud (2008) is the dam of Thyme For Roses.
