Tom Melbourne favourite for Naturalism

Friday 16 September 2016, 6:05am

The Lee and Anthony Freedman-trained Tom Melbourne is the favourite to snare a Caulfield Cup ballot exemption in the Naturalism Stakes.

The winner of Saturday's 2000m Group Three race is guaranteed a start in next month's Caulfield Cup should the horse be nominated for next month's 2400m handicap.

Tom Melbourne is the $3.90 favourite for Saturday's race ahead of Group One winner Jameka who is already high in the Caulfield Cup ballot order at number 17.

Tom Melbourne is equal 73rd in the latest order of entry.

Last year's Naturalism Stakes winner Magnapal is at $15 to win again.

The Terry and Karina O'Sullivan-trained seven-year-old was unplaced in the 2015 Caulfield Cup.
