More Success For Truly Ready

Tuesday 10 June 2014, 11:58am

The magnificent looking three year old filly, Truly Ready (NZ), (More Than Ready ex Torlundy) added a metropolitan victory to her resume yesterday at Randwick when she ran away to win, defying the on pace track bias of the day.

It was a most deserved victory for our grand filly who from 9 starts has now recorded 3 victories and 3 placings, with prizemoney of $90,000 to her name. She is game, consistent, and has a liking for hitting the line hard off a fast tempo. Qualities that will take her a long way in her future racing career you would think. She has come a long way from her early days as a 2yo when she didn’t show much speed in her work, and physically was immature and narrow. Looking at her yesterday in the mounting yard she has grown up and out, has a relaxed manner about her racing now, and the penny seems to have dropped as to what this racing caper is all about.

Nash Rawiller who rode her ever so patiently commented on his return to the enclosure about how exciting her closing sectionals were "she really accelerates quickly when she has to go" Nash said. It is her turn of foot that will help her go a long way we hope, and now that we have established a pattern to her racing querks, she can be placed to advantage in future.

This preparation she has had 2 wins, 2 placings and a 5th from 5 starts. We are hoping to get 1 maybe 2 more runs this preparation from her before she gets a well earned rest in the paddock. With BOBS bonuses running for her till the end of July, the plan is to try and keep her fresh to help her prep last a bit longer to take advantage of the cash on offer.

Truly Ready was 1 of 4 yearlings purchased 2 years ago in NZ by Champion Thoroughbreds. To date, all four have raced, and all four have won! The others are Super Villain, Winsomemore, and Ironfire. "The idea of Champion is to provide people with a select group of yearlings to choose from when they want to buy into a racehorse hoping for success. Narrowing the thousands of options available to a group of around 8, and knowing that over 90% of the stock we buy will get to the track and win races in a great head start for investors" Jason Abrahams, Director of Champion stated. "We seem to get a stakes performer in each crop, if not more, and most of the others win races, and many in town, which is a great result for a small team when you're not shopping at the top end of town. This is what syndication is all about. If we can keep up the consistency of results then our owners will stumble across a good racehorse and they will have enjoyed the experience".

Next up for Truly Ready will be another metropolitan race in about 3 weeks time. Here's hoping for a repeat result for her connections!
