Vasil has vision for Under The Louvre

Tuesday 2 July 2013, 5:33pm

The theme is the same and trainer Tony Vasil is confident the ability level will also prove to be comparable.

Under The Louvre, a late-blooming two-year-old who has his second start at Caulfield on Wednesday, is owned in the same interests as the well-performed Under The Eiffel.

And the newcomer is showing as much promise as his stablemate did at the same stage.

"They're different sorts of horses at this point, but Under The Louvre is going in the right direction," Vasil said.

"If he can get to the point the other one has, he'll be a lot more than useful."

Under The Louvre, a son of Excellent Art, has his second start in the BMW Handicap (1200m) at Caulfield on Wednesday, having made a winning debut at the Swan Hill last month.

Under The Eiffel won the Swan Hill Cup at the same meeting.

The Vasil-trained runner shares favouritism in an open betting race with Pindan Pearl, also a winner at her only start for premier trainer Peter Moody.

Pindan Pearl is on of six entries for Moody at the meeting, although Infinite Energy who is prominent in betting on the TMB Printing Handicap (1600m), is likely to be saved for Flemington on Saturday.

His other winning chance appears to be King Krovanh in the Guinot Handcap (2000m).

A winner at Caulfield over 1800m last December, King Krovanh looks well suited at Wednesday's distance following two promising runs this time in.
