Red Cadeaux third in Japan

Sunday 28 April 2013, 6:57pm

World traveller Red Cadeaux has finished third in the Group One Tenno Sho at Kyoto.

The 3200m race was won by Fenomeno who had 1-1/4 lengths on Tosen Ra with Red Cadeaux another two lengths third.

Trained in England by Ed Dunlop, Red Cadeaux finished a close second to Dunaden in the 2011 Melbourne Cup before running third to that horse in the Hong Kong Vase a few weeks later.

He returned to Australia last spring where he ran eighth in the Melbourne Cup and snared his biggest win when he went back to Sha Tin in December for another assault on the Vase.

Before travelling to Japan, Red Cadeaux ran second to Animal Kingdom in the Dubai World Cup.

Dunlop tweeted Red Cadeaux would now go to Singapore for the next month's Singapore Airlines International Cup (2000m) at Kranji.

"Another great run by RC who finished third in Tenno Sho beaten 3 to 4 lengths. So proud of him again, next stop Singapore!!!!!!!!" Dunlop said.
