The Tony McEvoy stable is oozing with quality heading into the big spring races.

Caulfield Guineas favourite Royal Symphony is about to ramp up his work with a jump-out at Flemington on Friday while Hey Doc gallops between races at Moonee Valley on Saturday in preparation for the Group One Memsie Stakes.

At Saturday's Valley meeting a pair of the stable's high-class three-year-olds continue their paths towards Guineas races.

Azazel continues his quest towards the Caulfield Guineas in the Listed McKenzie Stakes while Roomooz starts her Thousand Guineas campaign in the Johnnie Walker Plate.

The two galloped at Moonee Valley during the week and McEvoy is delighted in the way both are progressing.

Azazel was successful at Moonee Valley on debut last October and McEvoy said he had improved since his first-up win at Flemington on August 5.

"His coat has come. He's physically in better shape and he's very positive about himself," McEvoy said.

The trainer noted he didn't need to gallop Azazel at Moonee Valley on Tuesday but said the exercise delivered its purpose.

"It was important for Roomooz to have a look, not so much for Azazel, but it was good for his fitness," McEvoy said.

"I could have galloped him at Flemington but I got more benefit out of taking him there and getting the juices flowing."

McEvoy's plan is for Azazel to contest the Caulfield Guineas at the fifth start of the campaign.

"He's a big horse and we've got to watch his weight and I think racing will be good for him," McEvoy said.

The plan for Roomooz is to go to the Thousand Guineas at her third run back after McEvoy delayed her return by a week.

She hasn't raced since finishing eighth to Catchy in the Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield in February.

"I was planning to run her in the Quezette (last week) and as Catchy was going there, I thought 'do we need to'," McEvoy said.

"I'm so pleased we waited the extra week as the filly has really appreciated it.

"She's ready to go."
