The Blue Diamond Previews will command much attention at Caulfield as a host of juveniles try to press their claims for Melbourne's richest two-year-old race next month.
Tuesday's program at Caulfield features the Listed Blue Diamond Preview for colts and geldings (1000m) and the Group Three Preview for fillies over the same distance.
It kicks off this year's Blue Diamond series with the respective Preludes to be run on February 13, two weeks before the $1.5 million Group One Blue Diamond (1200m).
The Paul Messara-trained debutant Weatherly is the slight favourite at $4 for the males' Preview ahead of Maribyrnong Plate winner Power Trip and Godolphin colt Cohesion.
The fillies Preview has attracted a big field with the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Sword Of Light holding favouritism in an open market at $6.50.
The Mick Price-trained Extreme Choice is the $5 Blue Diamond favourite and is expected to have his lead-up in the Group Three Chairman's Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on Saturday week while $7 second favourite Defcon is nominated to make his debut in the Canonbury Stakes in Sydney on Saturday.
Tuesday's eight-race Caulfield meeting also includes the Listed John Dillon Stakes (1400m).
