Craig Williams outed for seven meetings

Wednesday 16 September 2015, 6:47pm

Craig Williams is free to ride at the Group One meeting at Caulfield on Saturday week despite being suspended at Pakenham.

Williams was given a seven-meeting ban on a careless-riding charge on Wednesday.

Third past the post on Firehouse Rock, Williams was relegated to fourth after a protest by Damian Lane on High Church.

Craig Newitt, riding Harveys True Heart, was forced to check in the incident near the 150m.

Williams, who pleaded guilty, will ride at Caulfield on Saturday before his suspension starts.

He will miss the opening of the Moonee Valley night racing season on September 25 but will return the following day to ride Volkstok'n'barrell in the Underwood Stakes and Stratum Star in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.
