Diademe inquiry set to resume

Sunday 2 August 2015, 4:16pm

The inquiry into the possible race day treatment of Diademe which caused her scratching from a Group One race is set to resume in Brisbane.

The Bjorn Baker-trained Diademe was withdrawn about an hour before the Tattersall's Tiara at the Gold Coast on June 20.

Stewards opened the inquiry after they received information from Integrity Regulatory Unit officers John Hackett and Norm Torpey.

The pair had visited the Gold Coast stables of Alicia Willick where the Sydney-trained mare was being housed and found five bottles containing liquid.

The found four unopened bottles labelled Kentucky Green and one unlabelled bottle which was open. They also found four unused syringes.

A Baker stable representative was with the mare when the bottles were found.

Stewards adjourned the inquiry so the liquid could be analysed along with blood tests from Diademe.

Chief steward Allan Reardon said he had been told the final test results would be available on Monday afternoon.

"We will therefore be in a position to reconvene the hearing on Tuesday afternoon," Reardon said.

"Mr Baker has indicated he will fly to Brisbane for the hearing."
