Stanaway seven finish in reverse order

Thursday 30 July 2015, 5:52pm

There were no celebrations for trainer Bryce Stanaway after the running of the second last race at Sale on Thursday.

Stanaway saddled up seven horses, more than half the field, in the Benchmark 70 Handicap (2200m).

But his seven runners filled the last seven positions in the race.

Sugar Bush, ridden by Jake Bayliss, was the first of the Stanaway runners home with Millenium Park (Jordan Mallyon) trailing the field.

The race was won by The Princeling giving trainer Robbie Griffiths his 100th winner for the season at the second last meeting of 2014/15.

The seven Stanaway runners were part of a team of 11 the trainer took to Sale.

His best finish for the afternoon was Nullarbor Cruiser who was third in a 1700m maiden earlier in the day.
