Griffiths weighs up Nadeem Lass options

Friday 5 June 2015, 4:54pm

Robbie Griffiths is having second thoughts about sending Nadeem Lass into the first leg of the Leilani Series at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

Griffiths has barrier draw concerns for Nadeem Lass in the Cafetto Evo Handicap in which she is a $15 chance from the widest stall.

"She's a Valley winner and if things change and the speed map shows she can slot in three-parts back, we may rethink," Griffiths said.

"But if it all looks too difficult we'll keep her a week and then go for the Leilani Series."

Nadeem Lass is a last-start Group Three placegetter after finishing third in the Proud Miss Stakes at Morphettville.

If the decision is made to scratch Nadeem Lass, Griffiths will rely on Flash Of Doubt.

Griffiths will also run Pure Addiction in the Essendon Nissan Handicap after the three-year-old should have been closer than ninth at Flemington.

Apprentice Jye McNeil takes over from senior jockey Dean Yendall.

"With Jye's claim, he's got 52 kilos and if he doesn't get an unlucky story he could be in the picture," Griffiths said.
