Dwayne Dunn set to miss Deep Field ride

Saturday 14 February 2015, 7:38pm

Dwayne Dunn is set to miss the prized ride aboard unbeaten sprinter Deep Field in the Lightning Stakes.

Dunn was suspended for eight meetings for careless riding at Caulfield on Saturday, with the ban ending after next Saturday's Lightning Stakes meeting at Flemington.

Unless Dunn lodges an appeal against the severity of the suspension and has a day shaved off, he will miss the meeting.

Dunn was charged with careless riding on Top Me Up near the 800m in the colts and geldings Blue Diamond Prelude.

Stewards assessed the charge in the low range and acknowledged his effort to straighten his mount.

But because the infringement happened in a Group Three race, previous suspensions cancelled out a guilty plea.
