Ambitions for Tetsuko and Brazen Moss extend beyond midweek racing at Canterbury, but it's a good place to start.

Trainer Gerald Ryan will gauge after their respective races on Wednesday whether they are on the right track for a trip to the Gold Coast for the rich Magic Millions meeting.

Both three-year-olds are coming back after spring breaks and both are taking on older horses first-up with Tetsuko to run in the 1200m fillies and mares event and Brazen Moss in a 1200m maiden.

"Brazen Moss has been gelded and I'm hoping that will help him," Ryan said.

"He has run five seconds in town so he gets too much weight against his own age and needs to run against the older horses.

"He's a three-quarter brother to Buffering and I'm told he was a handful as a young horse and needed gelding.

"Hopefully it has the same effect on Brazen Moss."

Star Queensland sprinter Buffering has won four Group One races and more than $4.8 million prize money.

Brazen Moss' five seconds have come from six starts while Tetsuko has had one win and two places from her four starts.

Her victory in February came in a fillies maiden in which subsequent Thousand Guineas winner Amicus ran third.

"She looks a lot better this time around. She has grown and is a big strong filly," Ryan said.

"If she does well at Canterbury then we will look at the Magic Millions race at Wyong and then the Guineas at the Gold Coast if she looks like she can run 1400 metres.

"That's also the plan for Brazen Moss."

The meeting at Wyong features the $200,000 Classic (1100m) for two-year-olds while the three-year-old Stakes (1200m) carries prize money of $100,000.

The $2 million Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 10 is Queensland's richest race while the Guineas is worth $1 million.
