Japanese horse Bande out of Caulfield Cup

Friday 17 October 2014, 9:41am

Japanese horse Bande has been scratched from the Caulfield Cup with a tendon problem.

Racing Victoria vet Dr Brian Stewart examined the second favourite on Friday morning and said he was unfit to race.

Chief steward Terry Bailey said the inspection revealed heat and pain in Bande's off fore tendon and he would not be able to take his place in the Cup.

Bande's forced withdrawal gives third emergency Unchain My Heart a start in Saturday's Cup with Dandino and Gris Caro taken out on Thursday.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained The Offer will be inspected later on Friday after showing signs on lameness.
