Lidari gains final $3m Caulfield Cup berth

Tuesday 14 October 2014, 11:34am

A full field has been declared for the Caulfield Cup with 18 runners set to face the starter in the $3 million race.

English stayer My Ambivalent was a notable omission at acceptance time, ruled out because of a stone bruise.

Her absence paves the way for the Peter Moody-trained Lidari to run with his stablemate Brambles named the first of four emergencies for the 2400m handicap on Saturday.

Japanese galloper Admire Rakti will carry the No.1 saddlecloth with topweight of 58kg after handicaps had to be lifted 2kg.

Last year's runner-up Dandino and 2011 runner-up Green Moon are on 57kg along with Sea Moon.

Chris Waller has accepted with four runners - Hawkspur, Junoob, Moriarty and Who Shot Thebarman.

The Kris Lees-trained Lucia Valentina is a clear-cut favourite at $4.80 ahead of the barrier draw on Tuesday.
