Moment Of Change suffers muscle injury

Monday 1 September 2014, 1:08pm

Moment Of Change has come out of his disappointing Memsie Stakes performance with a muscle injury.

The Peter Moody-trained gelding was aiming for his fourth Group One win over 1400m at Caulfield in Saturday's weight-for-age feature but weakened out of contention in the straight and finished last.

Moody's racing manager Jeff O'Connor tweeted on Monday that Moment Of Change had pulled up from the race with "severe muscle tear over hind quarters".

He said the six-year-old would be given at least two weeks rest before the stable reassessed its options.

The Memsie was won by fellow Moody-trained galloper Dissident who turned in an impressive first-up performance to beat Sweet Idea by 2-1/4 lengths with Puissance De Lune third.
