Prebble chalks up 600th win

Thursday 15 November 2012, 4:15pm

November has proven to be a stellar month for jockey Brett Prebble who not only claimed the Melbourne Cup but also his 600th winner in Hong Kong.

Prebble chalked up his 599th win when he steered the Caspar Fownes-trained Fiery Raider to victory in the first race at Sha Tin on Wednesday.

He had to wait until the final race to bring up his milestone aboard Frederick Engels for trainer John Moore.

The achievement follows Prebble's standout performance aboard the Lloyd Williams-owned Green Moon, who he partnered to victory in the Melbourne Cup last week.

Prebble has climbed to fourth in the Hong Kong jockeys' premiership with 13 wins, seven behind fellow Australian Zac Purton who sets the pace with 20 wins this season.
