2013 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale - Summer Book

The much anticipated Summer Book of the Sydney Classic Yearling Sale is now viewable online HERE

In the last two years this sale has produced no less than seven individual Group One winners including this season’s VRC Derby winner Fiveandahalfstar and million-dollar earners Sincero, Manawanui & Secret Admirer. Other Group One winners include Ilovethiscity, Hurtle Myrtle & The Verminator.

In 2012 alone, 15 graduates of this sale joined its stakes register including G2 winner Howmuchdoyouloveme, Inglis 2YO Classic and G3 winner Cavalry Rose and Maribyrnong Plate winner Direct Charge.  Add to those, Lady of Harrods, who took out the G3 McNeil Stakes at Caulfield, Molto Bene, who won the G3 Sires’ Produce Stakes in South Australia and Marchinski, victorious at G3 level in Hong Kong.

Other graduates to record their first stakes win in 2012 include All Legal, Coliseo, Fire Thunderbolt, Hioctdane, Hour of Peril, Irish Dream, Miss Solis, Ringmeister & Unanimously.

The inaugural edition of the Summer Book offers 467 yearlings over two days instead of the traditional three.  “The shortened format will allow buyers to select a precocious physical type, suitably matured for the January 20 & 21 sale,” said Inglis Sydney Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

The Classic Sale is renowned as the sale to project forth new stallions’ stud careers. Yarraman Park’s freshman sire, I Am Invincible, heads the list with 23 yearlings, joining his barn companion and G1-producing stallion, Magic Albert, who again has a strong representation with 22.   Other first-season stallions include Red Ransom sons Duporth (15), All American (14) and Onemorenomore (4).  Widden duo Nicconi and Dreamscape have 18 and 5 yearlings respectively in 2013.

Proven black-type producing stallions who will have substantial numbers on the Newmarket grounds in January include Not A Single Doubt (21), Casino Prince (14), Choisir (14) & Domesday (13).

Widden Stud lead the vendor ranks presenting a strong draft of 52 yearlings next year, followed by sizeable drafts from Arrowfield Stud (23), Patinack Farm (21), Emirates Park (18), Bowness Stud (17) & Middlebrook Valley Lodge (14).

All yearlings offered in the Summer Book of the Sydney Classic Yearling Sale at are eligible for nomination into the $5million Inglis Race Series.

The second consignment of Classic yearlings will be offered in the Winter Book on Sunday 23 June.
