Kah driving towards milestone at Caulfield

Apprentice Jamie Kah is close to achieving every apprentice's goal.

Kah needs two more wins to outride her claim less than two years after she started riding in South Australia.

The 18-year-old won the Adelaide jockeys' premiership in her first full season before moving to Victoria to test her talents under the tutelage of leading trainer Mick Price.

Kah repaid Price's faith when she won last Saturday's $250,000 VOBIS Gold Reef on Worth A Ransom.

And Price has rewarded Kah with two of her five rides at Caulfield.

Kah will ride Le Bonsir for the Caulfield trainer in the Pink Ribbon Cup and Halle Rocks in the Cath White Memorial Handicap on Saturday.

Le Bonsir was a Listed winner before finishing second to stablemate Samaready in the Group One AJ Moir Stakes in September.

The six-year-old resumed with a narrow second in the Listed Abell Stakes at Moonee Valley but Kah said Le Bonsir's recent work showed he would be hard to beat second-up.

"He worked super on Tuesday and I think he gets in with a great chance," she said.

Halle Rocks has had little luck at her past two starts but Kah figures a repeat of her Caulfield run behind Shamal Wind in February would get her into the finish.

"I rode her on Tuesday as well and I was really happy with her work," Kah said.

"Hopefully she can just get that bit of luck she needs."

Kah was a chance to ride in Adelaide on Saturday but Price's team is focused on Melbourne.

But she will relish the opportunity to outride her claim on a bigger stage at Caulfield.

"I would prefer to do it in Melbourne so people can see it better," Kah said.

Kah also has rides for Andrew Noblet, Shane Fliedner and Phillip Stokes at Caulfield.

Le Bonsir is the shortest of Kah's five mounts with bookmakers rating the gelding a $9 chance.
