There will be no shortcuts for Bring Something in Saturday's Listed Galilee Series Final at Caulfield.

That is not because of the likely slow track but because jockey Mark Zahra will have instructions to make ground out wide in the 2400m contest.

Bring Something's trainer Ken Keys says the three-year-old is reluctant to race inside horses.

"He won't improve inside horses so he'll go back and come around them," Keys said.

Bring Something will have galloping room for his bid for a Group One start in the South Australian Derby after drawing barrier 10.

Keys said the timing of the $120,000 Galilee Series Final made it the perfect lead-up to the Adelaide classic.

"Running on Saturday will give us three weeks until the Adelaide Derby," Keys said.

Bring Something will take winning form into his Caulfield assignment after a comfortable Cranbourne maiden win.

However, the trainer said Bring Something needed to post an emphatic victory to continue with a campaign that has featured pleasing efforts in Group Two company.

"I think he's been a good horse the whole way through," Keys said.

"Having said that, it was a poor maiden he won and he needed to win like he did to justify our opinion of him."

Shoreham won last year's Galilee Series Final before finishing third to Escado in the South Australian Derby.

Keys' attention will also be on Randwick where he runs Like A Carousel in the Group Two Chairman's Handicap (2600m).

Like A Carousel was set for a break after his last-start fourth in the Group Two Adelaide Cup (3200m) in March but trainer decided the Sydney Cup could be an option.

"He was already entered for the Sydney Cup so we thought,'why spell him?'," Keys said.

Keys said Like A Carousel needed to perform well in the Chairman's Handicap to earn a start in Saturday week's Group One Sydney Cup (3200m).

"He should be competitive and I'd like to think he could realistically run in the first five or six," Keys said.

Mark Zahra will ride Bring Something at Caulfield while Craig Newitt will partner Like A Carousel at Randwick.
