Nash Rawiller suspended for six meetings

Thursday 22 August 2013, 6:01pm

Nash Rawiller's domination of the Hawkesbury Gold Cup meeting came at a cost with stewards suspending the champion rider for six meetings.

Rawiller pleaded guilty to causing interference on the first of his four winners, the Tony McEvoy-trained De Crillon.

He will start his suspension on September 1, allowing him to take the Memsie Stakes mount on Cups chance Fiorente when the import resumes at Caulfield on August 31.

But his ban will mean he will miss two important meetings closer to home, the Wyong Gold Cup program and the Chelmsford Stakes fixture at Randwick.

Rawiller rode at Hawkesbury after he escaped serious injury in a barrier incident at Canterbury on Wednesday.
