Circularity faces test against Rothfire

Friday 28 February 2020, 5:13pm

Annabel Neasham realises the tough task Circularity faces when he heads north to take on Brisbane star Rothfire.

Circularity is the only interstate horse in the $125,000 Two-Year-Old The Jewel Prelude (1100m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Neasham runs the Sydney stable for the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace training partnership.

She was in charge of Away Game when she won at Doomben on her way to victory in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Neasham said it was ideal to be able to send horses north from Sydney to Brisbane where prize money was good.

"Circularity isn't up to the races like the Todman Slipper in Sydney at this stage of his career," Neasham said.

"So Brisbane is an obvious option. He has had two trials and should be right to go on Saturday.

"The wraps on the favourite Rothfire are big and we realise it will be a test. But we will get a clear idea where he stands after Saturday."

Circularity has not raced since leading for home and finishing in fifth place in the Breeders' Plate at Randwick on October 5.

The colt was a $200,000 Magic Millions yearling but was not ready in time for the series in January.

Neasham said the stable would be sending more horses to Brisbane in coming weeks.

"Quality Seeker will run again at Eagle Farm on Saturday week and he will be joined by some others," she said.
