Tony Vasil kicked himself fairly severely for making a hasty decision to scratch Under The Louvre from last Saturday's Moonee Valley meeting.

But he stopped punishing himself just as hastily after the colt scored impressively at Caulfield on Wednesday.

"A load of others came out after I scratched him on Saturday," Vasil said.

"It was a bad blue, I should have waited and let him run.

"But I suppose we've got it in the bag now and if he'd missed the start at Moonee Valley like he did here, it would have been harder to recover."

In an easier race at Caulfield, Under The Louvre ($2.20 fav) fulfilled all the promise he showed in his debut win at Swan Hill, overcoming his slow start to score by a length from Pindan Pearl ($4.80) with Moment Of Design ($21) third.

As well as announcing himself as a better-than-average galloper, Under The Louvre's win prompted Vasil to praise his other talented two-year-old, Prince Harada.

"I'm convinced Under The Louvre can be competitive in the spring, but Prince Harada is the better horse," he said.

Both horses have won their only two starts, but Vasil rates Prince Harada as a genuine Caulfield Guineas prospect.

Prince Harada is by Haradasun who Vasil trained to multiple Group One victories and who went on to win at Royal Ascot.

And he rates Prince Harada as potentially superior to the notoriously unsound Haradasun.

"Haradasun had a V12 motor but was running on K-Mart retreads," he said.

"This horse has the motor and he's as sound as a bell as well."

A winner on debut at Ballarat and then at Moonee Valley last month, Prince Harada will return to Vasil's stable this week, taking the place of Under The Louvre who goes to the paddock.
