The Australian Turf Club plays host to winners every week but the racing body has celebrated its own victory after receiving the state's top award for catering.

Beating restaurants, convention centres and other venues across NSW to win Best Caterer of the Year, the ATC's Rosehill venue also won for Best Convention and Events, while Randwick took out Best Events Caterer.

The racing club was given the highest score across all categories to win the top NSW Restaurant and Catering Award for industry excellence at The Star event in Sydney on Monday night.

"We are especially delighted that Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick have both been recognised as amongst the very best venues for food and hospitality," ATC chief executive Jamie Barkley said.

More than 850,000 people attend ATC events each year at its five venues.
