Pinatubo receives Timeform rating of 134

Tuesday 17 September 2019, 8:40am

Unbeaten colt Pinatubo has been given the highest Timeform rating for a two-year-old in more than quarter of a century.

The winner of Sunday's Group One National Stakes at the Curragh, Pinatubo been given 134, the highest since Celtic Swing rated 138 in the Racing Post Trophy in 1994.

The performance is also well clear of unbeaten champion Frankel at the same stage of his career when he rated 128.

Trained by Charlie Appleby for Godolphin, Pinatubo is expected to have his sixth career start in next month's Dewhurst Stakes.
