All has been forgiven between trainer Kelso Wood and jockey Michael Cahill after Someday's runaway win in the Glasshouse Handicap at the Sunshine Coast.

After Someday was an unlucky third to Fire Up Fifi at Eagle Farm last Saturday, Cahill's tactics were questioned by stewards and left Wood fuming.

But after the Glasshouse Wood was in a much more forgiving mood.

"When I said I was going to break your legs I was joking," Wood joked as he shook Cahill's hand after the race.

Wood admitted he considered replacing Cahill immediately after his luckless Eagle Farm performance but changed his mind the following day.

"The stewards accepted his explanation and when things settled down the next day and I watched the race I had a re-think," he said.

"He's the leading rider here. They don't come any better so I decided to stick and his ride today was top-notch."

Wood said Someday would join high-profile stablemate Sizzling in a spring carnival campaign.

"I'm sure he's capable of winning a good race and he can tag along with Sizzling when he goes south," he said.

"He should be unbeaten since I've had him. Things have gone wrong and he's been badly ridden so it was a relief to see him finally win."

Cahill brought Someday, the $3.50 favourite, with a well-timed finish to win by 3-1/4 lengths from Celtic Dancer ($14) with Belltone ($9.50) 1-1/2 lengths away third.

Cahill said Someday struggled to adapt to the heavy conditions in the early stages of the race and it was only approaching the home turn he was confident he would win.

"Once he got onto some better footing about the 600-metre mark and started to travel I thought he was going to win," Cahill said.

"He put paid to them pretty quickly and no horse has sprinted away from them on that track today which adds even more to his win."
