Glyn Schofield suspended for six meetings

Saturday 15 June 2013, 5:44pm

Senior jockey Glyn Schofield will miss six winter meetings while he serves a careless riding suspension incurred at Rosehill on Saturday.

But for young jockey Jason Collett, there was a win of sorts when he had the terms of a careless riding charge downgraded and he received a reprimand.

It effectively ends any chance Schofield has of hanging on to second place in the Sydney premiership with Nash Rawiller joining him on 53 after a treble on Saturday.

Schofield was charged with causing a chain reaction when his mount The Great Snowman shifted in on Key West in the seventh race with Sastruga the eventual victim.

Collett's charge was changed from shifting in on Destiny Rising in race two, taking Emblems in and causing Al Nova to be checked, to one of crowding Emblems and starting the incident but not of causing the interference.
