Santa Ana Lane fourth in Hong Kong

Sunday 28 April 2019, 5:49pm

Santa Ana Lane has finished fourth in the Chairman's Sprint Prize at Sha Tin in Hong Kong won by Beat The Clock.

Ridden by Hugh Bowman, the Anthony Freedman-trained Santa Ana Lane made his usual run from back in the field but could not make up enough ground in Sunday's 1200m-race.

The John Size-trained Joao Moreira-ridden Beat The Clock overhauled the leader Rattan to win the Group One race with Little Giant third.

The win was a second at Group One level for the Australian bred Beat The Clock who won the Centenary Cup in January.

Australia's other representative Viddora finished eighth of the nine runners with New Zealander Enzo's Lad last.
