Injured Emotionless out of Caulfield Cup

Monday 15 October 2018, 6:12pm

Godolphin's international visitor Emotionless will take no part in the Melbourne spring carnival with tests revealing he has sustained a pelvic stress fracture.

The Charlie Appleby-trained Emotionless was being aimed at Saturday's $5 million Caulfield Cup (2400m) but pulled up lame after a gallop at Werribee last Saturday week and had been restricted to light walking until he underwent a bone scan on Monday.

Emotionless had also been entered for the Cox Plate.

Racing Victoria says Emotionless will remain in his stable at the Werribee quarantine centre and Godolphin staff and vets will assess his suitability to fly back to England over the coming weeks.
