PRIME THOROUGHBREDS UPDATE 14/08/2018

Tuesday 14 August 2018, 9:35am

We have had a great start to the New Season with three winners from our first 10 runners. Everard kicked things off storming home at Scone for a very strong win and looks to have a nice future.

She is part of an exciting crop of three years old horses that include Zizzis, Our Long Sali and Golden Scipt. Our other winners were Not Surprising and One Invincible Cat.

Not Surprising as a yearling!!!

These two mares are by Yarraman Park’s outstanding sire I Am Invincible who could well be Australia’s Champion Sire this season. These three horses were purchased from the Magic Millions January Sale.

We have quite a few runners over the next few days starting with Annaman tomorrow at Sandown. He steps out to 2400m for the first time and with the prospect of a soft track gets conditions to suit.

On Thursday we are likely to have two runners in Newcastle with Kissing Game and Almerheri heading up the Pacific Highway for John Thompson.

Barrier draws are important with the rail out 6 metres. Five Star Gal is also set to run at Sale on Thursday over 1400m.

Reneged is nominated for Randwick on Saturday but we really need some rain to see him perform at his best.

He handles the dry tracks ok but is much better in soft going.

Raido may run at the Gold Coast depending on his barrier draw.

Zelsignoret is down to run at Tatura on Saturday with Eiffel Star likely to head to Swan Hill on Monday.

It was disappointing to see the meetings at Wodonga and Goulburn abandoned due to the state of the track after heavy rain fell in Wodonga and an issue with an irrigation pump caused sections of the Goulburn track to be under water.

Zelsignoret and Kissing Game were short priced favourites in races at these meetings.

One Invincible Cat as a yearling – beautiful filly – now a winner!!!

We have had great success over the years purchasing weanlings and yearlings prior to Christmas and syndicating them to our clients for much less than they would have cost if they had gone through a yearling sale the following year.

Invincible Al is one of these horses - Other good performers syndicated in this fashion include Pitt Street, Too Many Reds, Believe n’ Achieve, I Am Magic and Eramor.

We are offering two nice horses at present by the successful first season sire Sizzling going to Patrick Payne and the new boy Super One, a son of Champion Sire I Am Invincible heading to Darren Weir.
