Chris Parnham suspended for 20 meetings

Saturday 7 July 2018, 6:03pm

Chris Parnham has been banned for 20 meetings after being found guilty of reckless riding in the Taj Rossi Series Final at Flemington.

Parnham told stewards his outward movement on Goldifox in the straight, which resulted in jockey Damian Lane almost being dislodged from Inkslinger, was careless.

"I can't understand reckless," Parnham said.

"It was a bad move and a move that was a bit of a brain fade, but I just don't agree with reckless."

Chief steward Terry Bailey, in his final city meeting before he leaves for Singapore, told Parnham his actions almost had severe consequences.

"It's unfortunate but we nearly had one on the ground, through your actions," Bailey said.
