PRIME THOROUGHBREDS UPDATE JUNE

Thursday 21 June 2018, 10:46am

Prime Thoroughbreds loyal team of owners have plenty to look forward to as we head towards the end of the current racing season and into the 2018/19 Season which commences on 1 August 2018.

Chalmers - a star of the future!!!

Our bases are loaded starting with Husson Eagle and Hussy’s Glow running at Flemington on Saturday in heats of the All Victorian Sprint Series and Leilani Series.  The finals for both these series will be run at Flemington on 7 July 2018.  Finals Day has become a feature day on the Victorian Winter Racing Calendar.

Our other runners on Saturday are Invincible Al at Morphettville, Not Surprising at Newcastle and Five Star Gal at Donald.

Casa De Lago is set to run in a heat of the Rivette Series at Moonee Valley on Wednesday where she will attempt to qualify for the final also run at Flemington on 7 July 2018.

I am confident we will have a good representation at the Grafton Winter Carnival.  We have had some great results over the years at this Carnival with the highlights being winning the Grafton Cup and Grafton Guineas.

This year we have Reneged being aimed towards the Grafton Cup, Chalmers to the Grafton Guineas, Everard to the 2YO Showcase Plate and perhaps Husson Eagle or Invincible Al to the Ramornie Handicap.

We may have a couple more runners as well, but this will depend on results over the coming couple of weeks.

The New Season is looming, and we have some of our very good young horses in work preparing for the big races. Our star two years old’s Zizzis and Golden Script are in work with Patrick Payne and Darren Weir and Our Long Sali will head into work in about a month.

The Goldmarket winner Raido is coming along nicely and will be ready to race in about four weeks.

My eye is always on the Magic Millions day in January on the Gold Coast where we have had so much success.  I have purchased and managed the winners of eight Magic Millions feature races since 2010 and hope to be well represented again in 2019.

I hope you enjoy your racing and I look forward to a successful end to the 2018/19 Season where we have continued to punch above our weight.

Zizzis winning the 2018 Adelaide Magic Millions Classic!!!
