Woman arrested after trying to steal horse ambulance at Magic Millions

Monday 15 January 2018, 8:48am

A woman was arrested and taken to Southport watchhouse after trying to steal the horse ambulance on Magic Millions day on the Gold Coast on Saturday.

The ambulance had taken the Kris Lees-trained Lomazzo to the Gold Coast Equine Hospital near the track and the woman, who was drunk, hopped in the driver's seat and refused to get out.

The police were called and when they arrived she took the keys and threw them into nearby trees. The driver had to get a second set of keys to bring the truck back to the track, delaying the next race.

The woman, who was not a protester, has been charged with offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and public nuisance.

Lomazzo unfortunately had to put down. ?
