Ef Troop to miss trials for jump-out

Thursday 4 January 2018, 9:28am

Brisbane's fickle weather means Ef Troop and six other Tony Gollan-trained Magic Millions contenders will miss barrier trials at Deagon and instead have jump-outs at Eagle Farm.

Gollan had been looking at Thursday's Deagon trials to run Magic Millions 2YO Classic second favourite Ef Troop and the stable's other Classic hope Outback Barbie as well as several others being set for Millions races at the Gold Coast on January 13.

Gollan said he was pleased the Brisbane Racing Club had offered the A grass at Eagle Farm for Magic Millions horses.

"The A grass is in great shape and perfect to give the horses their final hit-outs," Gollan said.

"The weather has me a bit tricked here as it is hard to pick exactly where the storms can hit. But it is obviously very hot and Deagon can get really muggy. So to be able to jump out at home is an advantage.

"I don't know how many other horses will jump out on Friday. But I would like to keep EF Troop and Outback Barbie apart if possible."

Gollan said Ef Troop and Outback Barbie would have low-key build-ups to the Millions.
