More black-type tipped for mum to be

Premier Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan has suggested Notonyourlife is Spirit Of Boom's first black-type winner but he isn't laughing when he says she can win more black-type before retirement.

Notonyourlife is in-foal to Spirit Of Boom and rewarded her connections' decision to race on with her when she won the Listed UBet Classic last month.

She will run in the Listed Nudgee Quality (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday and Gollan believes she has a strong chance back to a more suitable distance.

"She didn't run out the 1350 metres when she was fifth in the Just Now Stakes last start. Her owners (Eureka Stud) took a gamble racing on with her but it has paid off with a black-type win and I would like to get another one with her," Gollan said.

"I joked with (Eureka studmaster) Scott McAlpine, Notonyourlife was Spirit Of Boon's first black-type winner but hopefully the foal she was carrying to win the Ubet Classic can also win a stakes race.

"She will have one more run in the Magic Millions fillies and mares race and then go off to be a mum."

Gollan trained Spirit Of Boom throughout his career which yielded Group One wins in the 2014 William Reid and Doomben 10,000

The trainer is also looking to Sheiswhatsheis to claim a stakes win but doesn't believe she needs to get in a speed battle for the lead in the Listed Bernborough Handicap (1600m).

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have sent free wheeling gelding Cabeza De Vaca north for the race.

Cabeza De Vaca led the Villiers field at Randwick by a huge margin before being run down near the line two weeks ago.

Sheiswhatsheis also likes to lead in her races but Gollan believes she doesn't have to take on the Sydney horse.

"If they want to lead we will let them and take a sit. If they don't we can lead. It is nice to have options," he said.

"Sheiswhatsheis has run several black-type placings and I would love to win one with her.

Gollan will have a strong hand in the Bernborough with Frespanol and Brazen Moss also in the field.
