The gates will be thrown open for Saturday's Caulfield meeting when retired champion Black Caviar will parade in front of racegoers.

Black Caviar's connections announced on Wednesday that the winner of 25 from 25 had run her final race.

So fans can farewell Black Caviar, the mare will parade at her home track on Saturday after the fourth race with jockey Luke Nolen to take the queen of Australian racing along the entire Caulfield straight.

Along with Black Caviar's parade there will be a presentation involving trainer Peter Moody, Victorian Premier Dr Denis Napthine and Melbourne Racing Club chairman Mike Symons.

Black Caviar won what was to be her final race at Randwick last Saturday in the TJ Smith Stakes, taking her tally to 15 Group One victories.

Moody said Black Caviar's Caulfield appearance, which is set down for 1.55pm (AEST), was a chance for fans to say goodbye.

"Everyone is invited and they can have one final look at her on a racecourse," he said.
