Gary Moore set to open Gold Coast stable

Thursday 12 October 2017, 5:47pm

Sydney trainer Gary Moore is expanding his operation to the Gold Coast in a bid to ensure his Magic Millions contenders are in the best possible shape for January's meeting.

Moore has fives boxes reserved next to the Magic Millions base and hopes to eventually have 20 stalls.

"I've moved a lot of horses up to the Gold Coast and have been successful there," he said.

"As we run up to the Magic Millions meeting I feel we need to have boxes.

"I have a lot of QTIS horses in the stable, they're the kind of horses that'll be sent up there to benefit from the bonus."

Moore has Group One-winning sprinter Takedown lining up in the $500,000 Listed Sydney Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday unless the gelding is required as an emergency for the $10 million Everest.

Classic Uniform is Moore's other Randwick runner in the Group Three Craven Plate (2000m).
