Debut South African Winner for Shadwell

 Scoring an easy debut win at Turffontein in South Africa on Sunday was three year-old colt Alwahsh, the highest priced yearling by Sepoy from his second crop.

The Mike de Kock trained colt surged clear to win the 1160 metre maiden by three lengths.

A $520,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell Australia from the Willow Park draft, Alwahsh is the first winner for O'Reilly mare Irish Blues, a sibling to multiple Group I winner Shamrocker, Group I winner Rock Diva and Group II winner Bohemian Lily.

Also breaking her maiden at Kenilworth was four year-old Commands mare Janice's Secret, who s cored by three-quarters of a length over 1800 metres.

A $30,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Rothwell Park draft, Janice's Secret is the fourth winner from unraced Convertible, a half-sister to Group I winner Palace Reign from Group II winner Brechin Castle.
