The first of last season's two-year-olds to race for Lindsay Park, Madeenaty, is set for her first appearance as a three-year-old at Flemington.

The much-travelled filly returns in Saturday's Winter Lodge Handicap.

Lindsay Park assembled a strong bunch of two-year-old fillies last season including Blue Diamond Stakes winner Catchy, Formality and Tulip with Madeenaty proving up to that group.

As she was last season, Madeenaty has come to hand quicker than her stablemates who are due to trial at Cranbourne on Tuesday.

Senior trainer David Hayes says Madeenaty's build-up for her return has been solid including a trial at Flemington on July 28.

"Her trial down the straight was excellent," Hayes said.

"But she's got a huge weight and has to give the rest of the field up to six kilos.

"She's a filly that's got the experience down the straight and I don't think too many of the opposition has so I'd be disappointed if she doesn't win or go very close."

After winning on debut at Flemington in October, Madeenaty tasted defeat in November before embarking on a road trip that took her to Wyong and the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions in January.

She returned in March for a narrow second at Flemington before finishing out of the money in the Golden Slipper.

Hayes said the filly coped with travelling without a fuss.

"Even her run in the Slipper was pretty good and she doesn't like wet ground," Hayes said.

"That would be a negative if it became very wet but I doubt Flemington will."

Hayes hopes Madeenaty will stretch out to 1600m in the Thousand Guineas in October but warned she's not a filly that likes to be held up.

"She's got a lovely big action and if we can keep her head nice and clear the idea is to stretch out," he said.

"Otherwise we might take on the open sprinters because she's pretty electric around a bend."

Extra Zero lines-up for start 104 in the Nursery Handicap and victory would be something new for Lindsay Park.

"I can't remember in my history with Lindsay Park, or Dad's, that we've had an 11-year-old race at Flemington and certainly not have one win," Hayes said.

"It would be a first and quite a thrill."
