Miss Vista relative wins debut at Geelong

Tuesday 18 July 2017, 5:10pm

A half-brother to one of Australia's most recognisable horses has won on debut at Geelong.

Most Admired is the three-year-old younger half-brother to Miss Vista who has captured the imagination of racing followers with her distinctive white markings.

Miss Vista can also gallop, winning four of her eight starts including her debut at Ballarat by 5-1/2 lengths in March last year.

Both Miss Vista and Most Admired are trained at Kyneton, in country Victoria, by George Osborne.

Most Admired, who is bay in colour and without the white markings, won his Geelong debut on Tuesday by 2-12 lengths after leading throughout.

Osborne said Most Admired might not have the same ability as Miss Vista but had a tremendous will to win.

"His ability is not there but his tenacity and wanting to do everything for you is fantastic," Osborne told broadcaster racing.com.

"It's been a long process getting him to the races as he's got a few issues that keep rearing their head."

Osborne hopes Most Admired comes through Tuesday's win in good order as he would like to run the gelding in town before the end of the season.

Miss Vista is back in work following a break after her last-start fifth in a benchmark 84 mares race at Moonee Valley in June.

"While we haven't picked out anything yet, I'd like to think we might aim up a little bit higher than normal with her first-up," Osborne said.
