Trainer Ben Currie gets century

Monday 17 July 2017, 8:59am

A treble at Toowoomba has pushed trainer Ben Currie past 100 Queensland winners for the first time in his career.

Currie led in Bella Occhi, Mishani Seeka and Real Mystique at Sunday's meeting to reach 100-1/2 winners in Queensland for the season.

He now leads the state title by 4-1/2 wins from Tony Gollan, who has the metropolitan title in his keeping with 74 city winners.

Currie, who has only been training for six years, has trained two winners in NSW to give him 102-1/2 overall.

"It isn't over for the state title yet because Tony has a lot of runners to come in the next two weeks but it has been a good season," Currie said.
