Hansen in two minds on Bright It Home Pop

Saturday 15 July 2017, 2:35pm

Trainer Darryl Hansen is in two minds about which way to go with Bring It Home Pop after the colt made it two wins in a row on the Sunshine Coast.

Bring It Home Pop was backed from $2.80 to $2 and strolled home on Saturday to beat Shogun Sun ($8.50) by 1-3/4 lengths in the two-year-old race (1200m).

After Bring It Home Pop won his previous start two weeks ago Hansen predicted the colt had more improvement in him.

The prediction was spot-on as Bring It Home Pop went to the lead and was never in doubt in taking his prize money past $230,000.

Hansen is debating whether he should take Bring it Home Pop to Sydney for the early spring three-year-old races.

"I don't want to overestimate what to do with him. But he is going to get a bit of weight here now so we will have to think about the south," he said.

Hansen believes Bring It Home Pop will run at least a strong 1400m.

Shogun Sun's trainer Kelly Schweida is looking at the Group One Golden Rose on September 9.

"He was four deep and last at one stage so the effort as very good. But he will have to show us he is up to Sydney before we consider going," Schweida said.
