Trainer Ben Currie is worried he is running out of horses to hold off Tony Gollan and win the state trainers title for the first time.

Currie had a winner at Doomben on Saturday with two-year-old Ilovevegas who came from last to win.

He then had a winner at Toowoomba with Mishani Shiraz to take his Queensland total for the season to 96-1/2.

Gollan had a treble at Doomben to move to 94 Queensland winners and 101 Australia wide and has the Brisbane premiership firmly in his grasp with 73.

Currie said he was facing a big task to hold off Gollan in the remaining three weeks of the season.

"I am running out of ammo. I had two Brisbane runners and two at Toowoomba on Saturday. Tony had 13 or something," Currie said.

"But no matter which way it goes, it has been a good season."

The Gollan-trained Pindan Pearl could be among those to add to the trainer's tally with the mare to be given one last chance to get black-type before she retires to the broodmare barn.

Pindan Pearl was bought by the Glenlogan Park stud at the recent Magic Millions National Sale.

She has won five times in three states and earned $227,000 prize money.

Glenlogan spokesman Neil Jenkinson said a stakes win or placings would add considerable value to her offspring.

"She had three starts in stakes races in the winter and was just behind the placegetters in the lot," Jenkinson said.

"So we will give her another chance in the Listed Tattersall's Mile at Doomben on Saturday week."

Pindan Pearl ran second to stablemate Sheiswhatsheis in the Open Hcp (1600m) at Doomben on Saturday.

"It's a pity it wasn't a stakes race but it is what it is. I've asked Jim Byrne to stick with her in the Tatt's Mile," Jenkinson said.
