First winner back for jockey Leanne Henry

Tuesday 4 July 2017, 5:29pm

Leanne Henry has ridden her first winner since she broke her collarbone in a three-horse fall at Warialda in which popular country jockey Darren Jones lost his life.

Apprentice Melanie Bolwell is still recovering from injuries she received in the fall in early April.

Henry was unplaced on two rides when she returned to riding at Mudgee on Sunday but was back in the winner's circle two days later.

She rode the Stephen Gleeson-trained Cosmic Reign to a 1-3/4 length win in a Class One sprint at Muswellbrook on Tuesday, one of four rides she had on the program.
