Jockey Tegan Harrison gave a timely reminder of her ability with a winning double at the Gold Coast on Wednesday.

Harrison has been among Queensland's top jockeys in the past four seasons with more than 300 winners.

However, this season she has struggled for quality rides after losing the top position for premier trainer Tony Gollan and is 14th on the metropolitan premiership with 17 winners.

The winner of 11 stakes races, Harrison does not have a ride at Brisbane's premier race day at Doomben on Saturday.

Harrison continued her association with top Sydney trainer Gai Waterhouse when she led all the way to win on the favourite Aurora Rose ($1.65), who races in the same colours as Group One winner Global Glamour.

"Aurora Rose is a nice filly and she was always going to be hard to beat in this class," Harrison said.

She made it a double with a smart ride to bring Irish Vice ($9) from the outside barrier to win in the last few strides.

"Irish Vice didn't handle Eagle Farm at her last start but she showed a good final turn of foot today," Harrison said.

Not everything went her way as she finished her day when Live Fast ($9) ran an unlucky second to smart Sir Donald ($4.40) after being held up for a run in the straight.

Trainer Michael Nolan has a big opinion of Sir Donald who will now head to city racing after making it five wins from eight starts.

Robert Heathcote took special pleasure from the win of Brotherly Secret ($4.60) who returned to his best form.

"I have had a few joint problems with him but he is right now and we might head to Rockhampton for the Newmarket in two weeks," Heathcote said.

Brotherly Secret is raced by Rob Slade whose syndicates have six horses with Heathcote.
