Attention for Moreton Bay Cup

Sunday 28 May 2017, 4:54pm

Stud-bound three-year-old colt Attention will have his next winter carnival start in the Group Two Moreton Cup.

Just there that will be on Saturday has not been decided with the meeting to be transferred from Eagle Farm after criticism of the track.

Attention won the 2016 Group Two BRC Sires' Produce Stakes and earlier this year ran second in the Group Two Autumn Stakes and fourth beaten less than a length in the Group One Futurity Stakes won by Black Heart Bart.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt started his Queensland campaign with a fourth in the Group Three Gold Coast Guineas (1200m) on May 6.

A $620,000 buy from the Inglis Easter sales, Attention will stand at Aquis Farm in the spring for a fee of $11,000.

Attention will carry on the dominant Redoute's Choice sire line which includes champion sire Snitzel and Not A Single Doubt.

He is by Stratum out of the well-bred mare Flamboyance and has picked up $373,000 prize money.

Attention was entered in Saturday's Group One Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m) his trainers decided against the Group One weight-for-age sprint which was won by Clearly Innocent.

"He had a trial at the Gold Coast and won it, so he is ticking over nicely," Paul Snowden said.

"We will make up our minds about his future after Saturday's race."

Attention beat some handy horses in the trial over 1000m at the Gold Coast on a soft track last Tuesday.

Fellow trainer Desleigh Forster is taking a similar approach withToo Good To Refuse ahead of next month's Stradbroke Handicap and plans to give him a barrier trial on Tuesday.

Too Good To Refuse hasn't run since finishing eighth in the Tails Quality at Doomben on April 22.

"He is working well and a trial on Tuesday should keep him ticking over nicely," Forster said.
