Three more Weir horses arrive in Brisbane

Thursday 18 May 2017, 8:51am

The third of trainer Darren Weir's Doomben Cup runners has arrived safely in Brisbane from Melbourne after some tense times with travel delays.

Amelie's Star and her stablemates Kenedna and Ulmann, who are also racing at Doomben on Saturday, have been waiting for a confirmed flight all week.

Doomben Cup favourite Articus travelled on Wednesday with stablemate Star Exhibit while the other three were transported 24 hours later.

There is no air transport specifically for horses and they are subject to being bumped off for other cargo at the last minute.

Australasian Oaks runner-up Kenedna runs in the Group Two Doomben Roses while Ulmann is in the Group Three BRC Sprint.
