After being scratched from the Group One Australasian Oaks at the barriers, three-year-old filly Ceylon could instead make her next appearance at Caulfield.

Ceylon was an outsider in Saturday's Group One 2010m-race for fillies at Morphettville won by Egg Tart, but had to be withdrawn after kicking out in the barriers and cutting a leg.

Co-trainer Trent Busuttin has nominated Ceylon for a 2000m handicap for three-year-olds at Caulfield on Saturday and will see how the filly gallops on Tuesday morning before deciding whether she runs.

"She's taken no harm, just looking at her, from the incident on Saturday," the Cranbourne-based Busuttin said.

"She kicked out after being fractious in the barriers and has given herself a bit of a cut which was bleeding. Obviously as soon as there's blood, there's no argument they had to scratch her. But she's fine.

"She travelled back fine and is sound this morning.

"She will work in the morning and that will determine whether we run her on Saturday."

Busuttin, who trains in partnership with Natalie Young, is preparing to run recent New Zealand recruit Our Peaky Blinders in Saturday's 1400m benchmark-78 which will be the four-year-old gelding's first Australian start.

Our Peaky Blinders won two of his six starts across the Tasman for his part-owner and then trainer Kylie Fawcett.

"He's a horse who has been bought by clients, headed by Seymour Bloodstock and a good syndicate," Busuttin said.

"He looks to be handy, progressive horse from New Zealand."

Busuttin believes Our Peaky Blinders' future lies in races over more ground than the 1400m but he is fresh for the distance having not raced for nine weeks.

"He certainly can gallop. He's a nice horse," Busuttin said.

"He'll be a nice horse to have in the stable going forward."

Lost Command is also entered in the race but the stable may wait to run him at Sale next week.

Busuttin said Curragh, who is entered for a 2000m race on Saturday, would probably be kept for an 1800m event at Flemington the following week.
