Mare top of Anthony Cummings' list

Top Of My List is just that with trainer Anthony Cummings after adding the Listed Lord Mayor's Cup at Rosehill to her recent Group Three win at Randwick.

The mare's win in April's JRA Plate was the first stakes success for the new partnership of Cummings and his son Edward.

Saturday's Rosehill win has further cemented plans to take Top Of My List to Brisbane during the winter carnival.

"She will go to Brisbane for the Brisbane Cup but how we get her there is not decided," Anthony Cummings said.

"We will look at the Doomben Cup over 2000 metres or maybe a 2400-metre race leading into the Brisbane Cup.

"She went up 20 ratings points for her last win so we have to look where to place her.

"The 2400 metres will be no problem. She is a big, strong mare with great efficiency in her action."

Because of her ratings hike, Top Of My List carried 57.5kg compared with the 53kg she had at Randwick.

As she was at Randwick, Top Of My List ($7.50) was ridden by Tim Clark in the 2000m race and tracked early leader Hunter Jack for much of the race.

When he dropped Top Of My List assumed control and held off Allergic ($4.40) by a long head, with Jessy Belle ($14) another 2-1/4 lengths away.

The win was Clark's 50th in Sydney for the season and followed an earlier Rosehill win on Cannyescent.

Clark said the Brisbane Cup in June would be an ideal race for Top Of My List and, like Cummings, he had no concerns about her stepping up to the 2400m.

"She likes to flow through her gears," he said.

"She gave a good kick at the top of the straight and the Brisbane Cup is a realistic target."

Josh Parr, who rode Allergic, said he thought he could win but the mare was too strong.

"I was confident with the run I had," he said.

Top Of My List also showed her versatility, with her JRA Plate win coming on a heavy track, while her win on Saturday was on the first good track experienced at a Sydney metropolitan meeting since February 4.
