Odyssey Moon an $8 chance in Telegraph

Monday 16 January 2017, 7:17am

Australian sprinter Odyssey Moon is an $8 chance to claim a Group One win in New Zealand in The Telegraph Handicap at Trentham.

The Telegraph over 1200 metres emerged as an option for Odyssey Moon after his win in the Group Three Standish Handicap at Flemington on New Year's Day as his owners chase an important victory for his future as a stallion.

The NZ TAB has posted Xtravagant the $4 favourite to make a winning return after a disappointing Melbourne spring campaign.

Odyssey Moon, who was sent to New Zealand last week, will be Melbourne trainer Robert Smerdon's first runner across the Tasman.

Noel Callow retains the ride.
